Visiting mobile subscribers can use a local mobile number to help save call costs while they are travelling abroad. Without needing to change SIM, the local mobile number is funded through a pre-paid account. Sometimes called: Local roaming number
The customer’s regular mobile number still works in the same way. However, callers can reach them on their visitor number (without the traveller paying expensive roaming termination charges): Local callers (in the same country) will also pay less although callers from home may pay more. The subscriber can make outbound calls from their visitor number by prefixing the destination digits with a special code – saving cost for local calls: paying local rates rather than roaming rates.
