Service Interaction (for IN)

The Service Interaction application lets service providers:

  • Make new services and augmenting existing services, by re-using and combining existing services (and/or components of services)
  • Selectively trigger and run multiple services on a single network trigger

The application blends together services, by managing the signalling interactions between them in a centralized service layer platform, which sits between the network and the services themselves. It provides service broking and service interaction functionality for SS7 and  this can be extended to include IMS (SCIM) networks.

Unlike rudimentary “chaining” which has severe combinatorial problems and gets very complex quickly, the OpenCloud solution  enables sophisticated interaction logic that provides flexibility without complexity.  Using the Service Interaction model, you can change interaction logic without changing service logic. The Service Interaction application controls the sequence of services that it invokes, managing and coordinating the interaction between each service.

Network Operator Benefits:

  • Operators can create new services or service enhancements to help build customer satisfaction and build differentiation to attract and retain subscribers.
  • By re-using existing services within new service compositions enables this innovation at a significantly lower cost.
  • The ability to extend older services with new functionality (such as adding pre-pay to VPN) extends the life of existing investments and can help save replacement cost.
